This has to be extreme, yep...an extremely poor judgement of 'a-character' on my part. June, 2010 Mike Arrone, the owner of MJA Mechanical installs a new air conditioning system and new tankless water heater system at our home in Tacoma for $7000. Within four days the air conditioner ceases to blow cool air. Mr. Arrone returns three times over five additional weeks to refill coolant in the line and inspect his installation. On the final trip Mr. Arrone decries, ""in a frustrated tone"".. he can not find or repair the air conditioner problem. However, Mr. Arrone explains, ""for a couple hundred more dollars I can pressure test the system to check for leaks."" Naturally, I cried foul and demanded he provide me with a working air conditioner. He then fled the scene-of-the-shame. Mr. Arrone hasn't accepted my certified mail nor returned calls on the subject, since. However, PACIFIC AIR SYSTEMS came to our rescue. After pressure testing the system they found that MJA Mechanical had incorrectly soldered two cooper lines together, which allowed for the very expensive coolant to leak out. Cost? You bet...several hundred dollars to fix Mr. Arrone's mess... #/@+*arhh=##^%*@#!!! Painful as the experience was to my wife and I, we reconciled that at least our new tankless water system hadn't failed us. Whoa, hold-on-to-your-pockets...just wait a minute..In the dead of winter 2011, you remember we had a few seperate days of freezing weather. Wellllllll...Mr. Arrone mounted the water pipes for the tankless system outside the house. You guessed it, they froze solid and we had NO hot water for three days in the dead of winter. Yep, I called him, and yea he took the call. Mr. Arrone's Quote was, "" THE PIPES are INSULATED, but WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WE'VE HAD SOME DAYS OF FREEZING WEATHER."" Before he hung-up his parting words of wisdom were, "" JUST GRAB YOUR HAIRDRYER, GO OUTSIDE TO THE WATER PIPES and THAW THEM OUT."" GEE-WIL-A-KER's...now why didn't I think of that?!!! Yer wonder'n ain't ya? Yep, I went outside with my hair dryer in hand (in the freezing cold weather, mind ya!). And, here's the rest of the story...MOST OF THE PIPES HAD NOT EVEN BEEN INSULATED OR WRAPPED! There is a moral, "" If yer lookin' to steal a bum buck, that's right- just look me up!"" Or, maybe If your lookin to MJA Mechanical for a bid...well, you can make the rest up yer-self! Good luck..
