Review content:
Nice apartments but VERY noisy. We can hear the people above us walking around and it is extremely loud as if someone is dropping boxes on the floor every day. I've lived in other buildings where I could hear people walking about but it was never this extreme.
Many others in the building have complained about the same issue and have moved out as a result.
The wood floors are poorly insulated against noise and the constant banging can become intolerable. We can hear EVERYTHING (and I mean everything!).
As well, we are now on a month by month lease and we have had two rent increases totaling $175 over the last 2 months and I'm sure there will be more to come. This is a pretty big rent increase in such a short time span. We were told after the first one that there would not be another for several months but they increased it by another $100 two months later.
The rent is expensive and given the noise issues and ongoing rent increases, I would ultimately not recommend La Fontaine. It is too bad because the building itself is nice.
