Review content:
We just ate at the Pittsboro Roadhouse and General Store - located in the old 'general store' location in downtown. Amazing that this level of sophisticated cooking is available in such a small town. I had the arugula salad with beets and toasted walnuts and goat feta (ok - I'll admit it - it's my second time with this dish and I'm just addicted. I wish I could box this up to go and have it daily - it's that good). Perfectly piquant dressing - not too much, but enough to really set off the flavors. Then we had the muscles in cream sauce - again, perfectly cooked and the sauce was just right - rich but not overpowering to those delicate muscles. My friend had the short rib with risotto, which he let me taste - and I'm guilty of trying to muscle in on his risotto, which was richly flavored with garlic and mushrooms. Ahhh. \r \r The servers were great - kind, helpful, attentive, but never in your face - and the place has great music. \r \r If you're looking for a nice night out on the town - for a lovely meal, with live entertainment, and cool decor - take a trip to Pittsboro and check this out.
