The doors were locked when I showed up at 9 am for my appointment - the office wasn't open yet! The doctor was late, and I ended up leaving after waiting for 40 minutes and finding out it would be at least another 20. I rescheduled, willing to give them a second chance, and once again the doors were locked at 9, and I was told they weren't open yet! When I was finally allowed in, the lady at the desk asked me what I needed, and when I told her I had an appointment, she looked shocked. She said she didn't know that and hadn't seen my name on the schedule (but there it was!). I was given the wrong forms to fill out. I was charged my $10 co-pay and then a $135 contact fitting fee and asked to pay $220 for single-vision RGPs. My insurance company says this is high, even for a private practice in their network, and is looking into it. Also, I was given the wrong prescription. When I got my contacts, I couldn't see anything, so I called my previous opthalmologist; he said I was given a prescription weaker than one I'd had four years ago (and I've had several since then). Bottom line: Save yourself time and a lot of money and trust your eyes to someone else! I went to Barton's on a colleague's recommendation, but she hadn't been there in a while, and things have obviously changed.
