On May 8th, We ordered through a contractor, from HINKEL-HOFMANN(HH), 34 GRAEF windows with upper sash grids and a Planter window. On May 26, all the windows arrived with the wrong grids in the upper sashes. The windows were also sized to the opening and not sized down to fit within the opening. Also, variation in the manufacture of the window resulted in most windows being bigger in width or height or both by as much as 3/16 of an inch. Meaning that most of the windows were bigger than the opening it was to go into. HH would not discuss the problem until the salesman came back from vacation on June 5th. They took back the windows a couple days later and submitted what we thought was a new order on June 12th. July 5th, I received the window order, which consisted of all the original windows with new upper sash glass with the correct grids this time. The windows were all original, only HH had cut all the flanges on all the sides, with no regard for the window size ordered.\r

My overall experience: HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE. A request, on June 30th, for an ETA on the windows resulted in a tirade from the HH President. ""YOU ARE NOT HELPING ME!...YOU ARE NOT MY CUSTOMER!"" The very expensive, planter window was delivered damaged. One of the protective wooden skids was missing from the bottom of the window when the deliveryman set then slid the unit onto my front porch. Two of the windows suffered significant razor knife damage to the inside faces of their frames as a result of the careless cutdown work on the frames. HH also removed every single original manufacture sticker from every window sash and frame, making it impossible for me to get warranty work done. Their suggestion to my window installer was to buy new windows. It's my opinion that this company has no interest in customer service and based on my two conversations with the president, has contempt for homeowners. Shop around, you will not have to look far for better windows and service.
Pros: Greaf windows not bad
Cons: because they are a dealer, they don't recognize the homeowner as a customer. I received contempt.
