Review content:
This a run down, 1950's (I guess) motel right downtown in Oneonta, NY. Other than its location on main St., everything else is horrible, substandard, and dirty. The company I was working for booked the room there. The web-site photo and review looked ok. (don't get fooled). \r
\r
\r
The only thing close to being less than 20 years old was just enough vinyl siding to amake a decievingly nice photo for the websites. \r
\r
The rooms (I tried two ) were small, filthy, and moldy. The carpets were unvacuumed, the floors sticky from not being mopped. There is no place to hang any clothes, no clock, no coffeemaker, no microwave, no nothing. \r
There were only two electrical outlets in each room. The free WIFI is not in the rooms. You must go near office to bleed some of the signal off the one and only cheap router at the front desk. \r
\r
When I opened the drawer of the dilapidated particle board dresser (falling apart due to prior water damage); there was food left inside it that had expired in Feb. 2010 (I was there in June). \r
\r
The only time to stay in this place might be if I was incredibly drunk and found myself in downtown Oneonta, on a month long drinking binge. \r
\r
I imagine the jail there has better accomodations than this motel. Vomiting all over the room would probably even go unnoticed by the staff. As do the used syringes laying on the broken concrete walk by the room. \r
\r
I persoanlly would not pay $19.95 for any room at this dive. The $89 plus that the company paid was a total rip-off. \r
\r
This place makes any bargain motel I have ever stayed in, such as Super Eight, Budget, Econolodge... Seem like the Ritz-Carlton. \r
The owner of the place fulfills all the qualities associated with the stereotype for his ethnicity. \r
\r
The only things keeping this place in business are that it has not been condemned yet, and that there must be a really bad shortage of rooms in the area. \r
\r
Do yourself a big favor and avoid this place.
Pros: I did not acually see rats, just the roaches.
Cons: run down, dirty, nasty, expensive rip off.
