Review content:
A couple of our friends wanted to go to O'Malley's for St. Patty's day. My husband and I had never been there so I did a quick search online. I read some reviews and was somewhat concerned. But I tried to remind myself that you never know what someone's intentions are when they start writing. I called the establishment and spoke with the manager that day to be safe. Very nice gentleman. Since we never go anywhere without our daughter, we asked if it was appropriate to bring her. He said absolutely. He also said there was no cover charge. So we all decided it was green light. My husband and I are both Irish and we were dressed for the occasion with green wigs and all. We wanted to have fun but didn't want any drama. We were very pleased when we entered the Irish Pub. Everyone was festive and friendly. This was a relief because after reading one of the reviews I kept picturing a bar full of territorial regulars. Instead, we walked in, looked around the room, smiled and took a seat with our friends. Two patrons at a table next to us were leaving and said they couldn't finish their pitcher of beer. We graciously accepted it and happily finished it off for them. The wait staff was cordial and everyone in our group enjoyed the food they ordered. However, they did run out of two Irish dishes before 6:00pm. They must have been really good to go that fast. We stayed for the bagpipe entertainment and they passed out green hats and beads. Nice touch. The clientele was a perfect mix of family's (even a few children) and regulars as well. The back patio seemed to be a popular location. Good weather. I think our waitress was new. Tough night to break in a new person. But she really scrambled to be as attentive as possible. The experience was great and we certainly will go back. I would recommend a different way of keeping a tab open with customers though. Holding on to a credit card is not safe these days and ours was given to the wrong person when it was time to settle up. Other than that, the night was exactly what we had hoped for. Kicking up our heels on St. Patty's day has always been important to us. O'Malley's delivered. Pros: Felt right at home. Cons: Should find a new way to keep a tab open.
