[Six weeks later, and I am still irritated.]\r
\r
Our experience (Sat., 8/21/10) was just about a total wreck. (The drinks were good.)\r
\r
The place wasn't 1/3-full at 7:00 PM, and still our drinks were quite delayed and the ""hot"" appetizers were tepid.\r
\r
Our party of six quietly, noted the delay of the main courses. My steak dinner arrived at almost room temperature in spite of the waiter's warning, ""This plate is hot!” \r
\r
Our waiter didn't care, apparently. I finally had to ask a passing staffer to get our waiter's attention. He took my plate and too-long afterwards it came back, not much warmer than when it left.\r
\r
The waiter never came back to see if the problem were corrected. Drink refills weren't offered. At 8:30 we felt like the restaurant was closing around us: All the staff was everywhere but within earshot of us.\r
\r
In his final appearance, the waiter asked insincerely, ""How was everything"". \r
\r
I told him, referring to my cold steak, ""This came back not-hot, AGAIN. Another member of the party said, ""And my meal wasn't really hot. I expect a baked potato to spew STEAM when I split the skin."" \r
\r
[Here's where the train derailed!]: The waiter said, ""Well, [something like 'not to be contentious'], you didn't give me a chance."" I said, ""I DID, THOUGH!; and there was no difference. Please, get the manager.""\r
\r
BW (boy-wonder): ""There is no manager. We're in between managers. [WHAT does that mean???]\r
\r
I: ""Who's in charge?""\r
\r
BW: I don't know... [Raising his voice so that his co-conspirators can hear...] WHO'S IN CHARGE.\r
\r
Unidentified voice: “No one!”\r
\r
A young woman showed up.\r
\r
I didn't note her name and I don't know her assignment, but she was probably only minutes too late. There was no solution she could offer. We weren't happy after (2) hours, and staying there longer for a free key lime peanut butter chocolate hoop-dee-doo wasn't going to make us happy. HOWEVER, she was professional and persistent and she definitely knew her business.\r
\r
She needed to be involved sooner. She could have saved the evening for us, herself, and BW. \r
\r
However, if she was running the place, she, along with BW should be fired. If she wasn't running the place the new owner should seriously consider her for a senior position. She knows what to do but needs the authority.\r
\r
Finally: When the reservation was made, accessibility was asked about and confirmed by the reservation-taker. However, having to go outside, in the rain, in an electric scooter, and up a step (impossible) is not ADA-compliant. 100%-compliance isn't always possible. However, staffers certainly can't lie about it. \r
\r
All in all, we should have had pizza delivered.\r
\r
[Final note: I sent a FAX to the owner with all the above details, and my contact info, and a suggested solution. A month later: I have heard nothing. I can only assume they don't care.]
