Cute little downtown music store just off the main strip. Inside has that family owned feel to it. I signed my daughter up for a guitar class with about 4 other students in it. She seems to enjoy it and looks forward to going to lessons every week. My son wanted to play guitar like his big sister, but they told me he was too young. My daughter’s teacher, Mr. Tim, explained to me that it is difficult for his little fingers and that, at this age, needs an instrument that isn’t going to get up and move with him. Made sense! He isn’t a wild child or anything, but most 4 year olds DON’T sit still that long. My son also loves that Guitar Hero game and mentioned that to Mr. Tim. Well, Mr. Tim actually grabbed this cute little guitar and sat down with my son and showed him one chord and then another. It isn’t anything like guitar hero, is it??? My son liked it, but DID have a hard time with his little fingers. Mr. Tim told him that once he got into 1st grade it will get easier and he can join the class, BUT suggested for my son to try their little petite piano class. I took his advice and BOTH my kids are now enjoying music! Miss Lori is my son’s piano teacher and my son just loves her. She has this magic way of engaging with all the kids. At the end of the session, they do this cute little recital in the main waiting area. My kids enjoyed it so much that they actually make up their own music together and put on little shows for the family at home all the time. I love this little music store! I signed them both up to continue both classes. We’re hooked! Oh, then I come to find out later that Tim and Lori are actually the owners and this IS a family owned music store and they have two other stores in Lemont and Bolingbrook. I never knew! Prices are not breaking the bank, staff is friendly, and the teachers AND owners are great. My suggestion is to run, don’t walk!!!
