Review content:
We lived in Ashton Woods for two years, and I have never lived in a more mismanaged environment. From day one we had nothing but problems. When we first moved in, we payed a pet fee, and luckily got a receipt, because the day after we moved in a notice was left on our door stating that we had 24 hours to pay the pet fee we had JUST PAID. Next, when we first moved in we got a deal for $399 a month for a year. We asked the landlord at the if we renewed our lease for a year, could we keep the $399 price. She said it was no problem. Come the end of the year, they had changed landlords, and even though several other tennants claimed they were told the same thing, because we did not have it in writing we had to start paying $485 a month. nearing the end of our second year, management replaced landlords for a THIRD TIME. We went to pay our rent, and the landlord asked if we were on a month to month lease. When we said no, she asked why we were paying $485 when the market rate was $425? Obviously, we felt that was a good darn question. However, she claimed there was nothing she could do about it, but when we renued our lease (yeah, right) we could get the $425 price.\r \r the maintenance people are a joke. Our bathtub became cracked, and it took them 4 DAYS to come over and spray it with Killz, which eventually peeled off. Our AC broke, and it took them another 4 days to get to that. Our eyes on the range of our stove burnt out, and we never even HEARD about that one.\r \r Also, the apartment across the parking lot from ours was broken into, and we never even got a letter or a visit from management about it, which is completely unheard of for me.\r \r The apartments are badly insulated, and you will pay enormous electric bills because of this. The windows have locks my two year old could break, and because you're in the less pleasant part of town, this can be kind of a worrisome issue.\r \r DO NOT MOVE HERE. Pay the extra money to live ANYWHERE ELSE. Pros: there is a lot of parking. Cons: I do not have the room to write all the issues here
