Review content:
Our family and Cinder, a Golden Retriever, moved here in 2003. Cinder had mast cell tumors and a short life expectancy (10% chance to live until 8 years old). After checking out three other Vets in the NW area, we went to VCA Hualapai Animal Hospital upon the strong recommendation of a co-worker who is very involved with animal rescues. The treatment and care given us by VCA Hualapai and especially Dr. Sapponas was outstanding, exceptional, and way above and beyond my expectations. We also used the boarding and grooming services and we are 100% satisfied. Cinder actually liked going to the Vet! Treatment options and costs were presented to us, pros and cons were explained. Diagnostic testing can be expensive. We did not have animal insurance. I made decisions about testing options based on what the results could offer. I believe the Doctors at VCA presented me with common sense options that guided Cinder's treatment. We lost Cinder Sept 2010, he was 13 and a half years old! No Chemo therapy or expensive cancer treatments, just good old fashioned canine well being with the help of VCA. Dr. Sapponas came to the house with an assistant. to euthanize Cinder. Dr. Sapponas is incredibly compassionate and helped us feel at peace in that very sad moment. The entire staff sent us a sympathy card a week later and it obvious by their comments that they took the time to know and care about my good friend. The VCA Hualapai team is outstanding.
