All of my family's moves had been local until summer 2010 when we moved from Queens to Central Virginia. We usually find service providers through recommendation of friends and family, but it's a new millennium, so we went on the Internet and found Basic Moving, among others.\r

The other companies gave us a lot of double-talk and what we thought were lowball prices, but the website of Basic Moving looked legit, so we invited John Alfano to our home for an estimate. We were impressed with his knowledge and sincerity in speaking with us. He gave us what we thought was a fair price (not the lowest) so we decided to go with him and Basic. We had interviewed three other movers in person and spoke to numerous by phone. One of the moving companies we had used twice before successfully but we liked John of Basic's presentation better.\r

I don't know what else to say except his crew came to our home on time. They were pleasant, and Stan, the foreman, was informative and helpful, he recognized the stress we were feeling. \r

The truck-loading went smoothly, our furniture and property arrived on time as well. A big, clean 53' trailer pulled up in front of our new home, painted with the name Basic Moving, and their logo, just like in the brochures. Different personnel unloaded the truck, but they were just as good. \r

We were not charged a penny more than the binding estimate. We are now pretty much unpacked and have found zero damage to our possessions. This company takes pride in doing a good job. We have already recommended them to business associates.\r

We never heard of Basic Moving before, but we are very glad we used them. They are definitely worth calling in for an estimate.\r
