If I could give zero stars, i would. If I could give negative stars, I would do that even faster.
I was recommended Swan Tile by family, she was satisfied with the service she received. Let me tell you my horrifying experience with Ian Tan, the store manager in the Manhattan Chinatown location.
1. Got a quote based off of architectural drawings and measurements for cabinetry. Was given a quote for 6K. Thought that sounded great and proceeded to give them $150 deposit to start the process with field measurements.
2. Field measurements were done and he comes back and tells me the quote is 8K. 8K?? I was very upset and he insists that the 6K was a ""rough"" estimate. first he says that the cabinetry was on promotion when he gave me the first estimate. Then I point out that based on his story, the promotion was ending the same week he was giving me that same quote, why would he quote me that? He then changed the story saying that he gave me the quote based on the cheaper style of cabinetry, when it was very clear when I was in the store that I wanted the higher quality cabinetry. After much back and forth, he lowers it to 7.5K and says that's final. So I agree, thinking I already put down the $150 deposit and I don't want to spend the time to start over (custom cabinetry takes about 8 weeks)
3. After a second field measurement (because of some renovation changes), I finally get the cabinetry plan from them to approve, sign off, and pay the deposit. I take one look at the plan and it's wrong. They have the dishwasher in the wrong place. The dishwasher was never going to move from it's original location (not allowed to because the plumbing line is there), and it's very clear that that's where it goes. Also, I start noticing other discrepancies between the architectural drawing and their cabinet drawings. When I call him out on it, he insists he never received those drawings. I have proof I sent the drawings because it was sent via email (I also gave him a hard copy when I was in the store). Ian's response is ""that was too long ago."" In those plans, it states that I wanted drawers in one place and a pull out pantry in another. When I point this out, he says that will be another $1000. So he has re-quoted me 3 times now based off the exact same drawing that has never changed. Finally, we agreed to disagree and I wasted 2 months on this and now I need to look for another cabinetry place.
4 Side note: We ordered our tiling from there too and he gave me a quote, then changed the price. When I called him out on it, he says ""oh, my mistake."" I feel like the entire 3 month experience with him was full of his mistakes.
If I were you, I would stay far, far away from this place.
