I too went into rapid realty for a no-fee place and ended up paying a broker fee. But, I didn't think there was anything shady or unprofessional about the way it all went down - they showed me the place I found on craigslist (no fee), and a bunch of other no fee places. I was curious about the broker-fee stuff (there were a couple near the others we saw), and the broker was very upfront about the fact that they WERE broker-fee places. I liked one of the fee places a lot, and ended up applying for it. Because I had come in on a no-fee ""lead"" I guess you could say, they were gentle with the fee. Maybe there are people in the company that are rude or unhelpful, but this was not my experience in the least.
