I've had more than my fair share of Indian cuisine all over the world. This was by far the best I've had since being here in the states. My wife and I took another couple that was skeptical, having never tried Indian. We had made reservations but got there early and was immediately seated. The place fills up fast and stayed full the entire time we're there. We got a Butter chicken, Shrimp Biryani, Lamb Vindaloo, Shrimp curry, cucumber sauce, chutney, meat and veg. samosas, nan bread. The chef had everything right and hot. The husband of the other couple is adventurous in his palate. The wife (and mine also) made it clear not to have her try anything that would spoil her experience (nothing hotter or spicier than a mild). The plates were heated and wiped as they were put in front of us. The serving dishes were also hot keeping the meats, shrimp and rices hotter longer also. This was the first time here for us also, so we weren't sure as to how it would be. We are happy to say that all dishes we tried were not greasy, the meats were not tough, and the rices were light and fluffy. We had imported beers, and a bottle of wine. The wine prices weren't normal prices, the white zin. was $21.00, expensive considering it was either it or the Gwertz. for the ladies. The ambiance is very good. Medium to low lighting could make it a date night or family night, we saw both there. The tables, linens and flatware were all clean. We saw the servers take extra time to maintain the cleanliness of table (while eating), and the tables once they were vacated. For a busy place, we had one primary server and several other surrounding servers help us either with questions, service of food, or bussing of the table. The couple we accompanied are very picky and expect a lot. The best part of the whole night is now they say they want to go back for more. Food was $100 and beverages $40. Don't want to bash in last sentence, but been to Safron Patch, Kashmir, Maharaja. No more of them for us. Pros: food, service, not rushed, parking Cons: bigger bathrooms would have been nice, one per gender
