Review content:
I go to Dr. Stoody for epilepsy and, quite frankly, I can't stand the guy. I haven't had a seizure in years so thankfully I only see him every 6 months. He is rude, he is extremely condescending, and he treats patients with disdain, bordering on contempt. When I go see him every 6 months the first thing he'll ask is "" So, any spells lately?"" (spells are his term for seizures). Spells? (at least he doesn't call them 'fits""). He's often very late too. One morning I had the first appt. at 9:00 and he didn't show up until 9:45am. I understand that things come up but his staff was extremely rude--didn't apologize for his lateness--didn't even say a word in fact just left us sitting there wondering what the heck was going on. When I went up to the window to ask where he was they answered, with extreme rudeness, ""he's still at the hospital!!"" (Ok, fine. But why not tell us that instead of letting us all sit there wondering?). We I complained to him about the rudeness of his staff and his answer was ""Well, have you ever had to work with the public?"". The contempt with with he used the word ""public"" (to describe his patients no less), encapsulates this guys attitude towards his patients. Because of this contemptuous attitude don't bother trying to talk to this about any concerns because all you'll do is annoy him. I was having a serious side effect from a med he'd prescribed for my restless leg syndrome only to have him tell me that it was all in my head. I did some research on the internet and found that this was indeed a side effect that others taking this same med were suffering from--they were told to stop med immediately. I quit the medication and all my side effects went away. I didn't bother to tell him that after quitting the symptoms went away because it wouldn't have mattered, he still would have chalked it all up as ""all in her head"". I need to find another neuro but it's such a pain changing (need referral, etc). Stay away from this guy!
Pros: only pro for me is his office is close to my house
Cons: arrogant and uncaring, staff is extremely rude, didn't check lab results
