Review content:
This practice is awful. I've taken both of my children there for the last 4 years. It's definitely hit or miss care. The nurse practitioners are fantastic, but the doctors there are cold, hurried, and seemingly disinterested in my concerns.
The last time I brought my kids in, my son was getting his 6 year check up, and my daughter was just getting her 4 year immunizations. Dr Glisson saw us that day, and he was HORRIBLE. Everything that he says to you is dripping with condescension and huffs in exasperation when you ask him any questions. During my son's hearing screening, the nurse said that he wasn't hearing anything out of his right ear. Dr. Glisson offered no explanation as to why--he simply said ""I dunno, it looks fine"" after examining his ear.
Then I told Dr. Glisson about the concerns I have about a possible hereditary heart condition that my children could have inherited from their father's side of the family. I explained that my ex-husband's mother died in her 20s of an undiagnosed congenital heart defect, and that I did not know specifically what condition she had because the family could no longer remember what it was called. He huffed loudly and said with exasperation ""well, I need more information before I can help you. Go find out what she actually died from and then we'll discuss it."" THEN he said that because of her young age, it was most likely a COCAINE OVERDOSE. The most inappropriate thing I have ever heard. To assume that she was a drug addict without any information to base such an opinion on is insulting, to say the least.
To top it all off, I asked him which immunizations my daughter would be receiving that day, and he said ""Oh, I have no idea. That's the nurse's job."" What kind of doctor doesn't even know which immunizations their patients should receive?!? Unreal.
DON'T GO SEE DR. GLISSON!!!!!!
Also, I called to set up an appointment with another doctor to discuss concerns I have about my son possibly having ADHD, but they would not let me see another doctor since Dr. Glisson is the one who saw him last. After explaining that I do not feel comfortable seeing Dr. Glisson anymore, they still would not accomodate my request to see a different provider. I'm now officially switching practices.
Stay away from Longstreet Clinic. Trust me, it's not worth your time.
