Review content:
After calling ALL SEASONS COMFORT to repair a pool heater, the technician stated that the error message on the bord ""LP"" indicated that there was a freon leak in the coils and that ""he was surprised the pool cleaners didn't offer to sell us a new one"". I stated that this was my first time in FL and had not had time to look into the heater since buying the property. He further stated that there was no way to fix it but hooked up a diagnostic tool and refilled the pump with freon to diagnose that it wasn't holding refrigerant. He then stated that a new heater install would be $5000. As I was thinking over the amount he stated that the sticker on my heater was from a competitor with an F BBB rating and promptly placed an ALL SEASONS sticker over the competitors and told me he had an A+ rating and that they had been in business for 35 years. I reluctantly decided to trust him and as he was writing up the bill, I noticed that it was for the ""flat fee"" of $5000 and nothing was itemized as to labor, materials, tax, etc. I felt uncomfortable immediately after he left, and within 30 minutes I called the office to cancel. They said I had to speak to the technician directly and discuss it further. When the technician called back he was very gruff and stated that he was charging us $225 for a ""restocking fee"" and freon from the test he performed. The only fee disclosed before hand was a $65 service fee. There was a charge to my card under ""BEACHSIDE RESIDENTIAL SE"" for that exact amount. I proceeded to call several more contractors and with three estimates the price using an even more expensive model of heater was between $3100 and $3900. In each case when I mentioned the $5000 quote I was told that was a ""scam"" and a ""rip-off"" and that that the pool heater ALL SEASONS was to install was a ""bottom of the line"" unit. Although I know the burden falls to the consumer to ""shop around"" I feel that ALL SEASONS determined through seemingly pleasant conversation that I was new to the area, unfamiliar with pool equipment and pricing, and unfairly used their BBB rating to put me at ease to over charge me
