I was one of paula's first customers. I was getting married and called her about doing my wedding cake. i searched and searched the Internet for my perfect cake. I found my cake and called her to set up an apt. to give her the details. When i first talked to her on the phone she sounded excited and was going to give me a great deal since i was one of her very first customers. So we setup an apt. and when i was trying to do so she was in the middle of a family day and was rushing me off the phone and sounding very aggravated and didn't want to hear anything i wanted to say.I tried to setup a day to do a tasting and everyday I gave her was an inconvenience but said i guess i can reschedule my plans. The directions i was given was the first red light in gatlinburg take a left. she never said how far if i had to turn anywhere etc. so i had to call her again when i got about 10 miles down that road. she then says just follow a turn until u see a white suv in the driveway. We get there the front door was shattered the inside was a mess she had us set at this bar on rickidy stools and served us a full blown cake that looked like she just slapped it together. I'm not big on icing so i asked her if i could try a different type which she said i might have some cream cheese so she slaps a big chunk of icing on my mother myself and my feiance's plate. when i was already aggravted enough she then says thats all she has for us to try a normal white cake i could have bought at the store and some very cheap lingering in your mouth icing. not even good linger. I then showed her my ideas with the cake hoping matbe it was just me. when i showed her the design she said it would be okay and that she would be able to make it. I lleft being a little unsure but hoping for the best with my time crunch. She calls me a couple days later to state she cannot do the design and i needed to find a new one. mean while mind you me and my mother are trying to get the final touches on a wedding i made mostly myself. so 2 days b4 she wants me to totaly change everything. So i did just because i had bigger things to worry about at that point. So its the day of the wedding and my mother went to go help setup the reseption and pay paula when she showed up. She showed up late making my wedding start late. when my mom asked her if she needed anything she said no and started putting our cake together. my mom handed her the money not getting to see the finished product and worring the wedding has already being late and she's not there. she hads paula the money which she shoves in her bra. (How prefeshional). Its time to get to the reception. I show up and the cake is like 2 sizes smaller than we agreed on. i had 70 to 100 guests and this cake looked as if it would have fed about 25. When we went to cut the cake....huh we couldnt because the card board dividers came so far to the edge of the cake that we got about an half inch long peice cut for us to feed eachother talk about embarassing. We barely had enough to feed my guests and ourselves. I'm going to be honest I was pissed and glad i was not there when she was because she would have not gotten paid and i would have went to wal-mart and got a sheet cake. at least it would have been bigger and feed everyone.I cant believe this lady is tring to run a business when her first few customers who she knows is going to bring more clientel...she screws them on a very important day.!!!! Shame on you!!!! so i hope my story keeps you far far away from her store. lord knows i wouldnt want you to go through what i did on my wedding day! she'll give you a good deal but turn around and make your occasion HELL!!!!
