Review content:
My experiences at Sgt. Smith's Army and Navy have always been indulging. Every time I go I find a new piece of memorabilia or surplus military gear. I have never left unsatisfied. The employees there always do their best to respond to my requests, and I feel very much like I've been invited into someone's home as a guest. The manager/owner knows much about how everything in the store works and what it is used for. Any time I have a question -- how do you heat this kind of MRE, what is this canister used for, do they seriously dig latrines with something like that?! -- he is always quick and social to respond. It is a wonderful establishment that has surely lost some business due to the gigantic monopolistic Wal-Mart across the street, but the homey atmosphere and personal attention have always led me to the comfortable confines of this particular personal shop.
Pros: Large selection, good service, ability to order-in, very militaristic feel, understandable prices
Cons: Semi-hidden location, connexted to a run-down rental building, some expenses on specialty items
