Don't use them - they are on Big Business Side, NOT YOURS Hello; average Joe here trying to save money, help the environment, used CFL on ceiling fan, Dress Electric writes it up and American Home Shield that piece of you know what wont cover it...they use that as an excuse not to fix my ceiling fan Common sense would have saved the day...NOT... Dressler Electric could have said moving forward you need to change the bulb ...but they didn't Dressler Electric more worried about saving their own ass than saving mine more worried about making sure they don't go over the AHS guidelines for payouts than my broken ceiling fan...who has ever heard of this... ""AHS if you have a ceiling fan with a remote and put CFL this is cuase for the motor to burn"" sounds like a tax form and a bunch of BS...also what about all my other ceiling fans (2 of them) in my house exactly set up the same Dressler Electric ""just a matter of time"" WOW quite an assessment whats going to happen to all home owners when all lights have to go CFL Governments around the world (AND IN CALIFORNIA) have passed measures to phase out incandescent light bulbs - Home Depot stopped selling 100W version in California this year, offering only CFLs and LEDs (light emitting diodes). On January 1 2011, energy-sucking 100-watt incandescent bulbs vanished from shelves in California Over the next couple of years in Clifornia, 75-watt, 60-watt, and 40-watt bulbs will also be phased out; by January 1, 2013, the new maximum incandescent wattage will be a feeble 29 watts. What will AHS and Dresser tell people then ??? - THey will have to fix the ceiling fan thats what...but until then screw the little guy - NOT You could have added value...by fixing the ceiling fan and passing along information but you sited with big business. Common Sense would have saved the day - NOT...well now you have one very upset customer and you know what that means... 1 tells 7 and 7 tells another 7 so your loyalty to big business is going to cost you loyalty right here at home...good luck
