Businiess name:  Hester House Inn

Review content:
The images and dialogue you see on Inn's website are anything but representative of what we found upon arrival. First, it was hardly a ""haven"" of ""home-style luxury"" but, instead, cold rooms that opened directly onto a street - anything BUT a ""retreat"" and certainly devoid of the ""sounds of nature"" they claim. Second, there were no blankets on the beds or in the room - it was cold and blankets were a necessity. Worst, though, was the pervasive and overwhelming smell of mildew/mold in BOTH rooms. There was water damage in the ceiling adjacent to one wall, with plaster and paper coming off. There was no way we could have slept there with the smell (and potential health hazard), particularly since we couldn't even open a window due to the street noise/exposure and cold temperature. Needless to say, we didn't stay and, as soon as I was home, I requested a refund. They'd charged the full amount for the rooms before our arrival - it would seem they may have had this problem before. I was told I should have expressed my concerns when I arrived and I would have, had there been anyone there! There was no one on site to assure we had access or to deal with any problems we had, let alone any possible needs we might have had (like blankets!). The Hester House is anything BUT a bed and breakfast - such places normally make a traveler feel like they're a welcome guest in a lovely private home. The Hester House is instead a moldy, cold, back-street dive that no reasonable person would consider habitable.
