I recently had the worst moving experience of my life because of U-Store-It. I accidentally broke the key in my lock about 2 weeks before moving out of the storage facility. I could have shopped around and arranged for a locksmith to cut the lock, but I was assured by the property manager that the ""corporate headquarters"" would be out to cut the lock (for free) on my moving date. However, when I showed up with my moving van, the same lady unapologetically told me that ""corporate"" would be unable to remove the lock until the next day. Since I had rented the truck, taken time off of work, and recruited my friend to help me, I decided to call a locksmith and was charged $150 because I was desperate to have the lock removed at the last minute. The property manager was completely apathetic to my situation and would provide neither her supervisor's nor the elusive ""corporate headquarter's"" contact information. I wasted several crucial hours and many dollars because this company is completely without accountability and motivation to serve the customer. I would recommend this business only to a person who is positive that they will never require the assistance of the management at their self-storage facility.
