Review content:
I miss my favorite West LA nail shop. I have been here 2 years and can't seem to find a place that is a) good b) reasonably priced. They are all pretty OK nothing great. They all have BAD nail polish colors so I usually bring my own. Some are sort of clean some are ok - you never know if the Vietnamese technician took the time to clean the utensils. I sometimes question if they really do it. The placed I used to go to usually seals them in a clean new packages like surgeons right afterwards so you know they are clean. Lucky Nails is nice and clean - costs about $20 bucks for both mani and pedi but you always seem to walk out tipping 2 instead of one cause they usually have one do your hands and one do your feet. It is actually super annoying when they do that. They are not very good and sloppy when it comes to nails. My feet were ok but she left so much stuff on there made me wonder what she really did other than cut my nails! The hands were way worse. I asked for square round and she gave me square shaped nails. The nail polish is all over the place. Those nail ladies need to go back to school cause they all seem to like to over file the sides of nails ruining the natural nail shape. Now when I paid I gave the one who started on my feet 3 bucks and was hoping that would be it. Not sure if it is cultural or not but they have a bad habit of asking for TIP! It is annoying to mention rude. We are already paying for a service so why the hell do I have to tip them? Anyways the lady who did my hand was yapping away in her language when the other one came over and said you ""you gave me tip"" in English I could barely understand. I said oh ok...hoping she would leave me alone but instead she stood there so I said ok when my nails dry and looked at my purse. She proceeded to look into my purse! I had 2 dollars left on top so she grabbed them and gave it to her friend as her tip. I will try my best to never go back there again.
Pros: Nice location, plenty of parking, no need for an appointment
Cons: Expensive for what you get, bad nail polish have to bring your own
