I'd like to respond to Highland Girl's comments. She was called about her outstanding balances. I asked her if it sounded right that the physical therapist had a zero balance. She told me that it didn't sound right, so I called the physical therapist's billing person again and asked her to check for another account. She did, and we were able to get the correct balance owed. Karen had told me that she wasn't treating with the chiropractor. I called the chiropractor's office anyway and left several messages; none of which were returned. Because Karen had told me she was no longer getting chiropractic care and because the chiropractor's office never returned our calls, we went with the figures we had. When it was discovered that the chiropractor did indeed have an outstanding balance because Highland Girl had been treating with him for several months, I called the chiropractor and spoke with him personally. He apologized for not returning our calls. He explained that she had been treating with him for years. He agreed to bill her health insurance company and told us that the care she had been receiving was maintenance type care and not really directly related to her auto accident. Much of the problem was caused by Highland Girl's misrepresentation to us.
