Businiess name:  Philip Marie Restaurant

Review content:
I always tell people that I think of Philip Marie as 4-star food at 2-star prices. The menu is varied and fun and the staff has always been pleasant to me and the guests I have brought to the restaurant. I don't live in the neighborhood, but find the atmosphere and the food well worth the trip. My favorite things: Oysters Rockefeller (with goat cheese, bacon and creamed spinach), the Wild Boar (like a pork loin, wrapped in pancetta and served with a delicious sauce - I've had it with three sauces over the years - a gorgonzola cream (my fave), a fig sauce and an apricot sauce (I think that's what they've been serving lately), and the Chicken Pot Pie - just delicious. The double stuffed porkchop is also good - just too large for my diet! Menu is varied with interesting items - everything from Elk and Ostrich to Chicken to Duck... oh, yes, the Duck breast is another stand out for me. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced, usually also with some special offerings -- and several wines you don't normally see on a menu -- a terrific Sancerre and an outstanding Gavi. The restaurant itself is beautiful... suitable for a romantic dinner or a business lunch. Be sure to give yourself a little tour of the downstairs when you go... the party room and wine room for two are really interesting and, it's my understanding the building has a bit of history itself... it was stop on the Underground Railroad back in the day. Brunch, Lunch, Dinner - This is really my favorite restaurant in the city!
