Businiess name:  Philip Marie Restaurant

Review content:
I specifically made a reservation here for brunch because Citysearch recommended it as one of the 10 best (!?) brunch spots. I will never trust a Citysearch recommendation again, because this place offered an utterly mediocre brunch. Not even mediocre, but just plain BAD. The quality of food was identical to what I would get at my local diner, and the presentation was just as unlovely. The service was poor. My blueberry pancakes tasted like baking powder, my friend's scrambled eggs looked as if they were just scraped off a cafeteria grill and slid onto her plate, the waitress forgot our orange juice and maple syrup and had to be reminded to go get them. I can't believe I actually went out of my way to go to brunch here, and I was actually embarrassed that I had offered to treat my friend to brunch and THIS was what I treated her to. I am convinced that this restaurant has enlisted friends of the owners to concoct positive reviews for Citysearch in order to bring in business---which wouldn't even be such a bad thing if the food and service lived up in any way to the ""hype."" Don't be fooled by the jazz band either--although I enjoyed the music, the restaurant is rather too small for a loud jazz band, and it hardly makes up for the utterly lackluster food and service. Pros: The Maitre D', the jazz band Cons: The Food, the Service, the tight space
