I was so excited to see Groupon feature a local nail spa mani/pedi/stone massage deal for $25, I had to get two! My boyfriend and I made an appointment 7:00pm on Monday, July 25, 2011. When we arrived, there was some kind of card issue being cleared up at the front with another customer, so I waited to be greeted with instructions (""sit, one minute, sign in"" etc.). After 15 minutes went by and the customer at the front had left, so did everyone else at the front of the salon EXCEPT a child (who appeared to be helping st the salon). She was THE FIRST person to acknowledge our presence and asked us to ""sit anywhere"" in the spa chairs. As we took off our shoes and prepared for relaxation, the same little girl came over and began to fill the foot tubs. As she was filling the tub, I could obviously see that there was oil still in the tub which gave me the impression that the tub may not have been thoroughly cleaned. At this point I was concerned about the professionalism and cleanliness of this place. However, I didn't want to complain, I just wanted my mani/pedi. The little girl finally finished filling the tub with water, but it was SCALDING HOT!!! When I asked if she could add some cold water, she didn't know how to work the knobs. She asked a technician next to us for help and she gave the the stare of death as if I had asked for something unreasonable. She clearly had an attitude and reluctantly helped. I wanted to be pleased at this point, but it was going on 7:30 and with 13 clients and 8 technicians working, we figured that we were going to wait. I also noticed that most of the clients had groupons and appointments, but they seemed to be short on staff to accommodate everyone in a timely manner. The nail techs finally started working on us at 7:40pm. At this point, there was a woman next to us with her niece that was furious with the service that she received. She complained about the nail tech working on her (who appeared to be the manager). She complained that she had been there since 6pm and she still hadn't had her manicure due to the technician ""walking away"" and dealing with other things. I immediately became uncomfortable because the technician was more interested in telling the customer excuses that listening and trying to fix the problem. The two began to argue loudly with the customer insisting to speak to a manager/owner and the technician refusing saying that the ""manager was not there and could not be contacted by phone."" The customer was so disappointed in the experience because the poor service that she was receiving had already been paid for. Unfortunately, I began to feel the same way. It was obvious that this business was unprofessional because the angry technician went to complain to another customer about the dissatisfied woman (while the angry customer complained to another tech). I almost didn't write this review because I felt like the other woman was having a way worse experience than I was, but it was $50 that was already spent that I wish I had spent somewhere else! My experience of scalding hot water burning my feet, my boyfriend being cut TWICE by a seemingly untrained young tech, my sub par paint job and the tacky professionalism of the rude non-""manager"" was too much for me. I also noticed that there were only 4 technician's licences displayed in the salon, but many more than 4 techs working...hmmm Overall, the spa looked great, but I will NEVER go back. $50 WASTED!
