When reaching an agreement over the contract for renting of the facility, be particularly watchful when it comes to the fine print in the paperwork. Instead of being offered a flat fee, you?ll see several different dollar amounts/fees for different components of the rental?and then hidden(?) at the bottom of the contract you?ll finally stumble into an 18% gratuity charge. Outlandish. The bottom line: be sure to request to see the net dollar amount/cost for the rental (rather than the ?grocery receipt? version) prior to making your decision as to whether or not you will accept and sign the contract. It is a beautiful facility, there is no question about that. We learned after the event that our caterer had been given a lot of undue grief during our wedding reception. According to our caterer, the manager acted rather odd and ?was incredibly rude (toward the caterers) the whole time.? The manager of the facility seems at times to lack professionalism, ie odd, rude behavior toward the customer. Also, apparently only licensed, professional caterers are allowed to provide service at this facility, something of which we were not made aware prior to signing our contract. In fact, we did not find out until the day of the wedding reception that only licensed, professional caterers are allowed to provide service at this facility. Thankfully the manager of the OC Golf Club let this one slide, and we were able to have the catered food service for our wedding reception. I would recommend against having your wedding reception here. There are surely many other places available that would treat you with more respect than you would receive from the management at the Oregon City Golf Club.
