We bought a brand new house in June of 2005 and got our wood floors throughout the first floor from Youngs. We got a 3 inch plank. Within moving in, we noticed the floor was buckled. Youngs flooring came out and said that this 3 inch flooring does not ""do WEll"" in this area of Virginia Beach, and there was nothing they could do about the floor. They said it was told to us in advance that this could happen! (NOT) Anyways, its been 6 years and we have had the wood sanded two times to try to help with the problem, and we have had over 5 wood experts come evalutate the floor and they ALL said that the floor was installed improperly. There is no room against the wood work for the wood to expand and thats why its buckles..........in other words, we could sand the floor over and over and the results will be the same... Its an everyday reminder when you walk or vacuum the floor and feels the bumps and cracks. Furthermore, we went to Heritage Park in our area, and spoke to the builders and they all said that 3 inch plank in fine here that they NEVER heard such nonsense. Matter of fact, they took me to some of the models to show me how well the 3 inch plank looks!!!!!!! Very disappointing, especially after spending over $12,000 dollars on these wood floors. Would not recommend getting wood floor from this company.
