Review content:
East Side Pizza was once our favorite place to go as a family. We've been there numerous times and usually had good service and great pizza. However, tonight (2/22/11) was completely different. We walked in and were offered an available booth. We soon noticed the strong smell of urine coming from my side of the booth. My wife flagged down the waitress who informed us that she was aware of the smell from our booth and that it was from a ""regular"" customer who always required frequent cleaning and bleaching to each seat she utilized. She said they were afraid to clean it thoroughly in fear of the bleach negatively affecting other customers. We requested to be moved and were sat on the other side of the restaurant. However, the stench lingered and we noticed that my clothing was soiled from the seat. The pizza had already been ordered, unfortunately. We requested to speak with the manager. She apologized, stated that she had been aware of the issue, and provided us two 20% off coupons, one to use now and another to use when we come back. We won't ever be back. The staff was aware of the health hazard before we were sat and did nothing until we had complained. The booth should have been cleaned thoroughly or roped off. The bathrooms were nasty, as well, with the similar stench. I know this won Hampton Road's ""Best"" in previous years but our experience tonight killed it for us. They didn't take responsibility for this problem and knowingly exposed us to bodily fluids.
