Review content:
I travel away from home four to five times a year. I want my hotel room to as clean and comfortable as home. THE FAIRFIELD INN, SULPHUR, LA can be easy to miss as it is located back off of the road SE of I-10. An adjacent hotel sign blocks the Fairfield Inn sign as you travel towards I-10. I just needed an overnight stay. BUT I would have been comfortable had my stay been for longer. The hotel, as well as the room, was clean. Breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m. My room had a dehumidifier, UNLIKE OTHER HOTELS I have been in that have a problem with humidity. (No ""skwishy"" carpets here!) When I returned home & found I had left my camera behind, a quick call to the front desk sent the housekeeper to my room to retrieve it for safekeeping. This hotel offers Senior Rates upfront with just proof of age (driver's license or state ID). One does not have to be a member of a travel or senior organization to receive the discounted Senior Rate.
Pros: Dehumidifier in room. No ""skwishy"" carpets. Staff responsive to problems (leaving camera behind.)
Cons: I feel the Pros override the Cons, but. . .Need to do a U-turn when coming from I-10. Then you need to drive slow as the Farfield Inn and entrance is blocked by and adjacent hotel sign.
