Review content:
I had never heard of Park TV & Appliance prior to 2009. I was in line purchasing beer for the upcoming UK /UL Dream Game, and another gentleman overheard my groans and moans about how I was going to have to miss watching the game on my old 42"" Samsung HD TV because it went kaput. He told me to check out Park TV down the road. He said they're the best and that he's bought several TV's from them and wouldn't go to anybody else. I had no clue it was located just past Greenwood Rd. & Dixie Hwy. I've driven past it a hundred times and never paid attention. So I drove by there one day on this gentleman's recommendation and checked out the joint.
I was approached by a fella named Mark, who indicated Park TV is a family owned business that has been serving the South End of Louisville for over 50 years. He has been in the business all his life. So it's what he does and knows best. That immediately put any reservations I may have had about this place to rest.
I had done extensive research online, and the wife and I were set on getting at least a 50"" or higher LCD flat panel TV. The best offer I had received was around $2,500 through Best Buy. This included the 55"" TV, TV stand, and installation. I told Mark the offer and asked if he could beat it. He crunched together the numbers and made me an offer $500 lower! I gladly accepted. He did not even ask for payment after I accepted the sale! He simply stated that the tempered glass shelf would need to be ordered first, and that when it came in he would install it in his shop and then call me to setup a time for he and his assistant to come out and install the TV for me. I could then settle up with him.
I promptly received a callback from Mark less than one week later, and stopped in that same day and setup and appointment to have the television installed on Saturday. He came out one hour ahead of schedule (of course calling me first to make sure it was ok) and he and his assistant had the 55"" LG TV installed in my basement in an hour or so. This was September of 2009. This TV has been the BEST I've ever had. I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever with it. I also recently bought another 42"" LG flat panel for upstairs from Mark, as the same Samsung HD TV went out for the second time in 3 years. I absolutely refused to dump another $300 into fixing it.
The guys at Park TV deal only with LG televisions. It seemed kind of strange at first, but I now see why. LG is bar none the best flat panel television made today. I also recently purchased a 2-year extended warranty from the manufacturer and found out Park TV is authorized to do the work to fix it if anything goes wrong with it. What more could you ask for?
The bottom line is this: If you want a great flat panel TV at a great price, and prefer guaranteed work from a reliable, local and family-owned and trusted business, look no further. Park TV is the way to go. I know I'll never do business with anyone else when it comes to my television needs!
