Review content:
These people are the worst when it comes to customer service and recently proved themselves to be the worst when it comes to taste as well.
My sister fell in love with their buttercream and ordered a 30th birthday cake from them. It was one of the ugliest cakes I have ever seen...until I saw her shower cake...but first, her birthday cake.
After tasting many cakes at wedding shows, she found this place and loved their buttercream. She ordered her cake, a large rectangular cake and requested a gold ""R"" in the center. The ""R"" looked like more appropriate for a 3 year old than a 30 year old. Not only was it yellow, not gold, but it was ugly, flat-out ugly. The cake tasted good, so we let it slide.
This month I was in charge of ordering her shower cake. She warned me Cake Carousel would be rude to me on the phone but I thought, surely not. They are a small business, after all. I was wrong. I was told to call back the first time I attempted to order her cake. When I inquired of the best time to return the call I was met with further curt explanations of how busy they were. Okay, fine. When I called back to order the cake the woman literally sighed at me several times when I informed her that I lived in another state and could not come in to discuss the cake in person. Apparently I was their first ever out-of-town cake order.
When we picked up the cake, which was supposed to be pastel shades of pink, we found a hot pink cake more suited for a sweet sixteen than a wedding shower. The word ""Congratulations"" nearly ran off the side of the cake, like someone did not realize how long the word was. The cake was very obviously crooked and it was molded within 3 days. Sadly, the french cream that had been the saving grace of the 30th birthday cake was non-existent with this cake even though I had been told three times that I was going to be charged extra for that particular request...$5, I think I can swing that.
I would advise you to run screaming from this place.
