This is the most shady bunch of lowlifes I've ever seen running a ""business""....well, it isn't accurate to say business as much as racket. Everyone I dealt with must be related because there simply can't be that many people with the degree of ignorance demonstrated unless they share DNA. When I found out my car was towed, I called the number and spoke to the only pleasant person in the whole process. I wanted to pick up my vehicle and it was 7pm on a Sunday night. She said someone would gladly meet me there in an hour but there was a $25 'after hours' charge. When I asked when regular hours were she said I could pick up the vehicle the next day anytime before 5pm without incurring any storage costs, so i advised I would call first thing in the AM. She reiterated that I just needed an hours notice. I called first thing Monday morning (which was Memorial Day) and spoke to ""Jill"". In all my life she was the most objectionable lady I have ever encountered. When i requested to pick up my vehicle she asked if i had been given a total, and i said I was told it would be $95 if i picked up by 5pm. She scoffed at that and told me it was $145 because of after hours (holiday) charges and storage. When i started to explain that I tried to get my vehicle yesterday but was told by THEIR employee I could pick up today without the 'after hours' charge, she became beligerent and told ME to stop raising my voice at her! I stated that surely if they are an answering service for a company which is HOLDING PEOPLES PROPERTY, they must keep a call log. She said they absolutely do not, and she has no way of knowing who i spoke to (even though she stated she was the manager and ran the whole answering service). She then hung up on me! When i called back, i again tried to explain that I absolutely would have picked up my vehicle the night before and it was only because of the erroneous information that they told me would be cheaper today. She said because of 'parades' no one could meet me before 1:00, again contrary to their own employees information. When I arrived at the storage lot, I should've known i was in trouble when Mr Muscle Head 2012 pulls up in his black Corvette--yes, a Corvette and we all know for what that compensates. The best part of all--Mr. MH states right out of the gate that he is a 'friend' and is just doing a 'favor'. When I asked him a favor for who and asked if I could just speak to someone who actually worked in or owned the company he said NO. He would not release my car until i paid the increased fees that I would not have incurred had i picked up yesterday like i wanted to. Holding peoples property and lying about charges, so they can get more money the next day is known by another word--extortion--and it happens to be illegal. But the VERY BEST PART OF ALL, is the bold face lying. I was raised differently and have zero tolerance for Liars. Even though Mr. Corvette said he was 'just a friend', he unfortunately for him doesn't have the brains to be a good liar because he proceeded to tell me exactly where my car was parked when it was towed, explained the detailed storage charges from daily rate to holiday rates, and also said that the City of Portland regulates their business when i accused them of running an illegal cash business. A lot of information to know for 'just a friend'. There is only one reason to lie in this situation and it is if you are actually embarrassed to claim any affiliation to an business specializing in purposely providing wrong information to the public so that you may then extort more money out of them the next day and claim you have no responsibility for what information is being provided by their call center. He signed the receipt ""Tardiff"" so i guess it's a coincidence that the friend has the same name.
