Nothing fancy, just good solid homemade food, fast and cheap. This is a breakfast / lunch deli. Lunch menu varies by day and whim. Meatballs Tue., meatloaf Thur., sometimes liver & onions, chicken every day and of course, fish Fridays. The cinnamon cream cheese buns are to die for, (fresh most days). Pleasantly belligerent waitresses banter wits with each other and customers creating a welcome & fun atmosphere. Predictably, some of the area movers & shakers and the cops dine here. Table settings are a menagerie but they?re clean & full of hot chow. Quiet corner if you want to use your laptop or read. GREAT coffee and lip smackin fresh brewed iced tea. Snacks, newspapers, lottery, cigs, bottled drinks, fresh sandwiches or a whole party sandwich to go. Friends and I go out of our way to rendezvous? here. The country club sandwich on Italian has lots of meat and low debris so its great in the car or in my case, the truck. Usually a fresh batch of cookies coming out of the oven about 11:30am. No counter service but roomy benches, well spaced tables and no background music permit normal conversation which for me, is what lunch is all about. Smoking only at outdoor tables, great on a nice day. Only 73 seconds to I-79, Houston exit or Canonsburg Hospital. Get there early for a full selection because they run out. I believe they also operate a nearby pizza shop. Pros: Good homemade food, quick friendly service, reasonable prices Cons: Inside an old storefront, no pie, gets busy, old tables & fixtures, closed Sun.
