Review content:
For some reason I had forgotten about Minuti Coffee downtown. I remember hearing about it opening but never went. A few days ago when I was reminded about it I literally jumped in my car and drove over. It was easy to find being right next door to Sambuca's and parking was a cinch. I walked in and immediately loved the design of the shop. Lots of shiny metal and leather and lounge-y type seats with places to sit inside on of course outside where you can people watch as you drink your coffee/espresso.
I started out with a Doppio Cubano and a cinnamon roll. Both were really excellent. The espresso shot is made with raw sugar packed in it before being made. It came out a little bit sweet and for people that like to add sugar to there Espresso shots this would be perfect. The cinnamon roll was soft and sweet on the inside.
I wanted to try just a coffee as well. I wish I hadn't because it was really disappointing. I really wanted to like it but it just was working. To be honest it tasted like the coffee grounds had been used once before. I'm sure this is not the case (I would hope not) but that is what it tasted like. It was just like drinking old watery coffee with a little bit of bitterness in it. Maybe it was just a fluke. I'm more than happy to go back and try again, which I will, because there is so much I like about the place.
