Her crew dropped our dresser on the street and thought we didn't see them. I mentioned it when they unloaded it. Glenda magically produced the missing chunk. She said the dresser was "only particle board" and "only worth $25 at a garage sale". She tried to talk me out of making a claim. The next day they snapped our baby's hutch off off of its base. The hutch fell and smashed. TWO SCREWS TO DISASSEMBLE would have prevented this! They tried to force the fridge through the front door damaging both the fridge and door. Then they dragged it on my hardwood floors and gouged them. I could go on and on. Oh yeah, don't move after sunset because there is no light in her trailer. No tie downs either. I continue to find more damage every day. You get what you pay for I guess. At the end of the move she had the nerve to say everything went o.k. if anybody ever asked. Find someone else! RESPONSE FROM Glenda Smith Movers: Greg, Im very, very apologetic & surprised that you feel unsatisfied with your experience. Customer service is of utmost importance to me. While we strive to take extra care of our clients belongings, accidents can happen & we are always accountable when they do. In 25 years, we have only had one insurance claim. The back left corner of the dresser (particle board 2 inch damage) happened when it hung on the metal strip crossing the trailer gate. When you showed the damage to me I went out to the trailer, found the piece, mentioned it might be able to be glued back but I wasnt sure & we would take care of the damage. The baby hutch (particle board) had 8 screws across the back with poster board paper holding it onto the bottom piece. When screws are removed from particle board it reams out the holes & the screws will no longer stay in place. I showed this to you. We shrunk the item & were still in doubt it would hold the top piece. Due to our trailer sitting on a hill, when the item was picked up the back snapped off. I also brought this to your attention with much apology & said we would take care of the damage. The refrigerator went through the front door without any problems because the door was very wide. The refrigerator has rollers on the bottom & it would be extremely difficult to gouge any hardwood floor with those rollers. Prior to our leaving I asked you to go through the entire house, check walls, floors, furniture to make sure you were ok with everything & add what you thought might need to be included as damage. You checked everything, wrote only the 2 items (dresser & baby hutch) as damaged on the contract & initialed the same. You made a copy for yourself & gave me a copy. We offered you 3 different options to resolve the matter & you chose to file an insurance claim. I voluntarily furnished you all the pertinent information necessary to file your claim. We packed the entire house & were only paid a third of the money due for the full pack job but we are still willing to see that your furniture complaint is resolved. Im from the old school & believe that one must always deliver on what one promises. Call me when you have a chance. Respectfully, Glenda Smith
