Before I begin I would like to say that the reason I wrote this is that I wanted to relate our experience with Cheap Local Movers. We relocated from California to Tennessee and contacted several moving companies associated with major carriers for quotes. After choosing Cheap Local Movers I went to the BBB website to check their records and it looked good. The first thing that happens is they send someone to our house to do an estimate. He explained us that although is estimates are very accurate we still paying for the actual weight of our move. We could also get a binding estimate but it's was much more expensive. And this is what usually huge moving companies do. But I wanted to save so money??? So we decided to take the first action. We did also a garage sell so the weight was even lower after scaling. We also decided to have this company pack our belongings and set up a date for the move. Our move date was set for 11/10/2009 and our delivery date was set between 8/14 - 8/19. As far as I know the move date is firm. The delivery date can vary by as much as five days. It's just the way they do business and it was the same with all the moving companies we got quotes from. In the day of pick-up the movers showed up on time and were very professional about their job. Two days before the delivery the driver of the moving van called us about our delivery arrival. In the day of delivery everything was unloaded and placed where it was suppose to go. We were satisfied with our move through Cheap Local Movers in Los Angeles.
