My boyfriend and I are juniors in college looking to move into an apartment together. We searched online and in the papers. We thought that Wilkeswood looked like a very nice safe place to live, so we went there to look at an apartment. The lady in the front, Nicole, gave us FALSE information. She told us that no matter what happens, we get the $200.00 holding deposit back. We handed in our applications which are supposed to take a few days, needless to say we got our answers in ten minutes. Nicole had called ten minutes after we left and told us that my boyfriend?s background was denied. My boyfriend has absolutely NO RECORD, he was never arrested or anything like that. So then after this faulty background check, we go back to Nicole to get our money and she tells us that she put the apartment under MY NAME AND ONLY MY NAME and that we cannot get our $200.00 back. It clearly says in the paper that you must sign before processing the application that if one person is denied you will get refunded the $200.00 deposit. Now after a month of waiting and waiting and waiting to hear back from Nicole, we must find another place to live since she promised that she would fix everything and we had nothing to worry about. The apartments at Wilkeswood are beautiful but their staff, is TERRIBLE. There are so many nice apartments out there for rent for a lot cheaper, save yourself the hassle of working with people that lie and cheat college students. I do not recommend this complex to anyone.
Pros: Very nice area and apartments are beautiful
Cons: the staff is absolutely terrible, they give you false information and are extremely shady
