Review content:
I was in an automobile accident in December 1993 and sustained fifteen facial fractures and severe neck trauma. The head, neck and facial pain was beyond anything I had ever experienced before. After placement of skeletal wires and metal plates into my face for three months, my fractures were treated. However, the migraine headaches combined with muscle spasms in my neck and back remained constant. I followed the traditional route starting with neurology appointments where I was given a variety of prescriptions for pain medications, muscle relaxers and even antidepressants. During this time I was also seeing a physical therapist atleast three times a week for ultrasound, massage and neck/back exercises. I continued these appointments for approximately five months and got NO relief from my severe headaches and neck pain. I then found my way to a chiropractor who I visited three times a week for adjustments and massage therapy - this gave me some relief from my level ""10"" headaches that I was suffering from every day since my car accident. But after about six months, I plateaued and the chiropractor was not able to help much after that point. Somehow I was blessed to be referred to Nadia (Dr. Guo) and my life took a change for the better finally!! I began acupuncture treatments three times a week initially and felt results almost instantly. I then was able to lengthen the time between my visits to twice a week, then to once a week since I was doing so much better. Dr. Guo's treatments are gentle, warm and relaxing. Dr. Guo provides electronic acupuncture treatments which feel like gentle pulsations deep in the trigger points which she is an expert in locating. Along with heat and a nice blanket , I often fall asleep during my 30 minute treatment because I am so relaxed and comfortable. She is very knowledgable and kind, too. I trust her completely and I know that when I refer anyone to her for so many different ""problems/situations"" that they are in very good hands. I now see Dr. Guo for maintenance visits to keep my neck comfortable and headaches under control. I leave the Medical Acupuncture Clinic feeling so relaxed - as if I had a massage (actually, her treatments are better than a massage!!). I have been seeing Dr. Guo for treatments for nearly fifteen years and she has changed my life and I am very grateful to have found her.
