Review content:
Ordered simple food: House salad and 20 piece wings. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, with some tomatoes diced so small that it was if, in total, there might have been a half of a slice of tomato, a sprinkling of shredded cheddar and two rings of raw onion. Pathetic. The worst part of it was that it had obviously been sitting in the fridge for some time. It had the taste of old refrigerator.
The wings were 1/2 drummette and 1/2 the upper wing part. They came dry - meaning simply, they were cooked - deep fried - in bacon. They tasted of bacon. That's ok, if thats what they were going for, but it was not good, chicken that tastes like bacon. The Sticky Fingers way is to serve them dry and allow you to put the BBQ sauce on them yourself. That's a great concept, except that the sauces they offered all, except for one, had some form of sugar as the first four ingredients - brown sugar, high fructose corn syrup, molasses, and simply sugar. The only one that did not have it was the ""Carolina classic"", which had high fructose corn syrup as its fourth ingredient. But that was enough - the traditionally spicy, savory taste was beaten out of it by the overwhelming sweetness of the HFCS. It was awful, and it was the best of the bunch. Sticky Fingers sits in Greenville South Carolina, in the heart of some of the best Barbeque places in the south - holes in the wall that blow the doors off Sticky Fingers simply by making the sauces they use taste savory, smoky and delicious. Find a good hole in the wall and really enjoy liking your fingers.
Pros: good service, friendly people
Cons: food
