Review content:
It doesn't matter if you had a good or bad experience with the particular animal you purchased from any pet shop. While you are buying dogs from breeders, there are thousands of wonderful, lovable pets around the country who are dying in shelters. We have a huge pet overpopulation problem. Why would you go out and buy a ""brand new"" puppy or kitten ... because you think it's better than a ""used"" pet from a shelter?
Most shelter animals are surrendered by their families through no fault of their own. The owners may be moving to somewhere that doesn't allow pets, unable to afford to care for their pet anymore, or just abandon their pets because they're no longer wanted. Sometimes these innocent pets have only a matter of days or hours before they are euthanized because there's just not enough money or resources to support all of the homeless animals out there.
A common misconception is that all shelter animals are old. There are many shelters in this area alone with adorable puppies and kittens who are desperately in need of a place to call home. Please consider doing the right thing and giving a shelter animal a second chance at life before they run out of time. The least you can do is stop by and LOOK before you make your decision. Thank you for reading.
