I wish that I could give a negative star rating for this business. This was my first (and last) experience with Merry Maids. We needed our new home cleaned prior to moving in our furniture. This was an empty home that had had already been professionally cleaned 2 months prior. Merry Maids happened to be the only maid service available on the day we needed the cleaning done. For our modest-sized home, they charged $608 for a cleaning.
We had everything carefully scheduled. I am meticulous about scheduling, and asked them to come at 2pm on their scheduled day. They showed up at 9am while our handy men were still installing lighting fixtures. My husband talked to the manager of the franchise who rescheduled the girls to come back the following day, stating that our house was an ""All day job"". My husband gave them $50 as a deposit towards the cleaning (as good faith). Before they left, the maids stated that they would not be cleaning certain things, like the stove top.
The next day, I talked to the manager (Brunny) on the phone who refused to use the $50 from the previous day towards the $608 cleaning. She stated that that was a ""tip"" for the maids. My husband was upset because he would never ""tip"" for a service we had yet to receive. So, an already overpriced cleaning was now costing us $50 more.
To top things off, the work turned out to only take a few hours (not ""All day""), and the maids left. This franchise is completely unprofessional and we would not suggest them to anyone! We will continue to use Maid Brigade who does just a great of a job cleaning and is less than half the price. I would urge people to do a little more research than I did before hiring Merry Maids.
