I worked with Kelly Services in Ithaca and was truly disgusted with the service, positions offered, and lack of professional services in the actual office. While there certainly no interviews required, I was sent cold to various assignments. The positions that were offered were always ""Temp to Hire"" yet I found they never were, the term was used only to spark interest in the temp. When a company expressed the temp was good, positions definitely became few and far between to keep temp available should there be a need at said company. The complete lack of professionalism within the office was actually shocking. For a staffing agency, the staff had no tact or respect of others. When and if calls were returned, they were useless. When stopping into the office, if it happened to be open, you were dragged into a personal conversation with the staff up to and including health issues, personal issues, and problems she faced in general. Talk of actual work was given as a second thought. Discussing companies and/or employees at the companies was horrifying. Made me wonder how the conversations with those looking for temps was any less professional. There are two other staffing agencies in Ithaca - both are much better and more professional.
