Everywhere you turn today there are dozens of articles about using coupons. Showing us how to spend less when we shop. Using coupons at the Hauppauge, NY Shoprite is like having your teeth pulled. Today I was using just 2 Internet Manufacturers coupons. It was like I had the plague. I spent 15 minutes extra at the cash register just to use these two coupons. First the cashier tells me, I can't accept these coupons without the manager checking them out first. After 5 minutes the manager shows up and looks them over and over like I had a counterfeit $100.00 bill. He then tells the cashier, ""these look fine to me"" and walks away. So she rings them up only to remove the double part of the coupons that the register automatically doubles all coupons 99 cents and down. I ask ""why did you remove the double part of my coupons. She tells me that the store doesn't double ""Internet Manufacturers coupons"". There's that evil 3 word combination that this Shoprite is so afraid of. So now we wait another 7 minutes for the manager to come back. When he does, he tells me we do not accept Internet Manufacturers coupons for double. I asked why not. You accept regular Manufacturers coupons. No, the manager says not the Internet Manufacturers coupons! I said, what is wrong with Internet Manufacturers coupons? He said no we do not double Internet Manufacturers coupons. I started to laugh. I was wondering if all the readers of the coupon articles were having my kind of day. Those articles do not mention anything about Internet Manufactures Coupon harassment!
