I am a forgiving customer and understand when things go wrong, but the portion size, quality, and poor treatment by the staff at Ubu is totally inexcusable. Here was our order: 1x Soon Doo Boo (Soup) $8.99 Special Instructions: NO MSG 1x 131. Sea Urchin (Uni) a la Carte $3.95 Choice of Preparation Sushi 1x 17. Gyoza $4.50 1x 103. Chicken Teriyaki $12.50 Subtotal:$29.94 Tax:$2.10 Tip:$6.00 Total:$38.04 First, no uni. They replaced it with ikura which they stuffed in a small sauce cup. Second, gyoza was dry and tasteless. Third, the chicken teriyaki was so overcooked it choked us with one bite and it was accompanied by a tepid side of dry rice. The $9 soup filled 1/3 of a quart container. I would understand if perhaps it was half and full of ingredients, but this was 1/3 of a container of broth and nothing. The salads were accompanied by 1/4 sauce cups of watery dressing and were comprised of a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, a random olive, and a withered piece of cucumber. At first I wasn't going to mention it (after all, in these economic hard times, and as a former restaurant manager, I know establishments have to make cutbacks) but after a while my brother and I determined this to be totally unacceptable. We called Ubu to see if there was something we could do. They said this was how the portions were normally, and there was nothing they could do. My brother called back, was put on hold, and was hung up on three times. We proceeded to call them at least ten times and were prepared to drive to the establishment with the food to get a refund, and finally (after a complaint placed with Delivery dot com) we reached them. They said they'd refund my card through Delivery dot com after offering a credit (which, quite frankly, I would never take at this point), and the issue remains open at this current moment. We shall see if they follow through. They are on their way to ""pick up the food."" Really? Let us feed the stuff to the neigborhood cats and then deal with it. Are they planning on reusing it? I have photos to back this up should anyone care to see. It's truly ridiculous. Like I said, I am a forgiving customer, but this time, I was appalled.
