Review content:
Fort George maintains the atmosphere of a working man's pub in Astoria's typical rescued-from-falling-into-the-river style. The Fort is very welcoming to non-locals and does not feel as if it were designed for the summer tourist crowd, much like the Rogue Pub at the other end of town. Impressive old-growth timbers crown this vaulted cathedral and huge windows open toward the river to let in what filtered sunlight Astoria receives. The service, food, and beer are all excellent. I fully recommend the brew, with an emphasis on Fort George's IPA. Fort George seems to place and emphasis on getting their food from as local a source as possible when economically feasible and generally carries a holistic approach to presentation. One can tell that Fort George cares about who and what they serve.
Pros: Brilliant Atmosphere and Fantasitic IPA
Cons: Parking
