Review content:
Arriving for a hopefully early dinner (5PM on a weekend), my friend and I were greeted by, . . .well, by no-one. The area by the cash register was vacant, the restaurant had at most 4 or 5 patrons, tables were piled with the remnants of past diners, but there was a pizza-twirler visible in the glass enclosed kitchen, so we knew that Mama's was open for business. After five or so minutes, spent examining the short menu repeatedly and looking pleadingly at the pizza twirler, an order taker appeared, reeking of cigarette smoke. Listening to our request for pizza, his response was that pizza orders would take at least 45 minutes, and did we really want to order pizza? Well, yes, we did, so we ordered a small pizza and a salad to pass the time. This did seem curious, given the lack of customers, and the fact that this was supposed to be a pizza restaurant, but it was our first visit, and our thinking was that perhaps the pizza was made with such care and expertise that it would be worth the wait. After 40 minutes, we noticed that other people who came after us, seemed to be getting pizza, so we inquired as to the status of ours. Oh, we gave that pizza out some time ago, someone else must have taken it. Well, given that my name had not been called, this seem unlikely, and it was more likely that our pizza had simply been overlooked. So we settled in for another long wait for the replacement pizza, beginning to regret our decision to have an early dinner, since by now it's nearly 6. Fortunately the second pizza did arrive, and in only 30 minutes. Unfortunately, though it was very hot and fresh, it was totally unexceptional in any way, nearly flavorless sauce, tasteless crust, and not a pizza that we would have returned for, even had it been delivered in a reasonable time. No, we will not return. Pros: excellent parking Cons: the service and the food
