I went to Empire Carpet and Flooring and Design Center and could NOT have been more disappointed. During my first visit, I was helped by one one their salespeople and was told that the price of the laminate I was interested in was $1.09/sq. ft. I was surprised and happy and went back that day to show the sample to my family, and we were helped by a different salesmen who told us the EXACT same price for that model of laminate. The great surprise came when I went to order that laminate and was told that both the salesmen had incorrectly advertised the price and that it was a dollar more than the quoted price. In addition, they also told us about a $75 shipping charge that they had somehow skipped in our two previous visits (and this was for the material being shipped to the store, not to our home).
I understand that mistakes happen but the way they handled the situation was simply ugly. The owner was completely DISRESPECTFUL and while trying to talk to us, was texting away on his phone...and when we complained about the recurring error and their unwillingness to fix the problem, he told us that he would rather not do business with us anyways.
If you are looking for an honest and helpful business, DON'T GO HERE!
However, if you like last minute, surprise price increases, random fees, and rude salespeople, then this is the place for you!
